Jim Dutenhoeffer, a veteran of the United States Air Force, passed away unexpectedly on November 14, 2018 at the age of 69 in his home where he spent many happy years with his sassy wife.

Jim is survived by his wife, Jenny; his daughter, Dina (Nick); his brother, Larry (Carol); his brother-in-law, Eric (Donna); his niece, Amanda (Dane); his nephew, Daniel; and by his beloved granddaughter, Evie. He is also survived by his niece, Dawn, and nephews, Troy and Darin, and extended family in Colorado. He is preceded in death by his parents, Magdalena and Jacob; his parents-in-law, James and Dorothy; and his sister-in-law, Julie.

He loved spending time with his family in Duluth and watching the ships come in, but especially loved every second he had with his granddaughter, Evie, who was the light of his life for the last 7 years. He will be missed sorely, but loved eternally by all who knew his quiet and steady presence.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Tuesday, November 20th at 11am at Ebenezer Ridges Care Center- 13820 Community Dr, Burnsville, MN 55337. Visitation begins at 10:15am. Interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery to follow the service.
