Obituary for Ruth Dorothy Chamberlin (Nelson)

Of Edina, formerly from Ashland, WI passed away on March 26, 2017 from Alzheimer's at Mt. Olivet Careview Home with her daughter at her side. Preceded in death by her parents Philip and Ebba Nelson, husband Ronald and granddaughter Alicia Anderson.

After Ron passed away in 1977 she moved to Edina, MN in 1978. She retired from Norwest Bank in 1998 after working there for 20 years. Over the next 12 years she took many two week trips with her daughter, Barb, traveling to DC to see the Korean War Memorial, NYC, Boston, Charleston and the Keys. Her favorite destinations were San Franciso/wine country and Las Vegas; although they didn't gamble, they loved the people watching and shopping.

Survived by daughters Barb, Debbie (Michael) Olson, two grandchildren, Nicole Tentinger, Ross Tentinger and Jax, her grandson's Labradoodle whom she adored. In the summers of 2008 and 2009 she would drive from Edina to Apple Valley during the week to keep Jax company and made sure he had treats.

A private celebration of life and internment with her loving husband was held at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery on September 6, 2018.

Special thanks to the staff at Mt. Olivet Careview Home and Grace Hospice for their capable and compassionate care.
