Terrence (Terry) P. Daly age 90 of Victoria peacefully passed on August 15, 2018 from complications of heart disease. Preceded in death by son Tim, son-in-law Todd Kelsey, brother James (Hazel) and sister Dolores (Bob) Aman. Survived by beloved wife of 67 years, Rita (nee Murphy), proud father of Jim (Jane), Sheila, Cindy Kelsey, Teresa (Dennis) Ahmann, Patty (Dino) LoPesio, Mike (Pam), Brian (Kate), Peter (Kim). Treasured grandpa to 28 grandchildren and their spouses, and great grandpa to 18. Minneapolis born on July 10, 1928, attended Holy Name Grade School, Central High School and The University of St. Thomas. A “big kid” as he referred to himself, Terry played football for St. Thomas College, the Mallat Fruit Team and when in the Army the Alaska Air Command. 40yr resident of Bloomington prior to moving to Victoria where he and Rita have lived for 20yrs. Terry lived his life devoted to his beloved wife and unswerving in his commitment to give his best-self to his children. For 50 yrs the insurance industry benefited from Terry’s hard work, honest practices and willingness to find solutions when none seemed likely. Often asked why he became a specialist insuring truck lines, he’d reply “Trucking companies pay a lot for their insurance and I have a lot of kids to feed.” He founded The Daly Insurance Agency in 1967 where he remained until retiring in 2006. Terry lived an active and full life; playing tennis, camping, cross-country road trips, vacationing in Big Sky and spending as much time as able at their cabin on Gull Lake. Terry never tired of finding ways to enjoy his family. Devout in his faith, he started each day with optimism, and never ended the day without having laughed. Terry practiced what he preached, gave of his time and talents, led by example, volunteered with enthusiasm and trusted. When he met you, he knew you for life. Those who know Terry know a proud Irishman who embraced life with both hands, a man who celebrated his blessings. A good man. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am Monday Aug. 20 at ST.
